The Troubles
It is often a source of ironic amusement, to read and watch how some broadcasters, the media and historians and such like try to place 'the start of the troubles' as of this date or that incident, of course those who know the history of this "Northern Ireland" Statelet know exactly when the troubles started for them, especially if they are Catholic, it started the day the day they were born. "Northern Ireland " from its birth was a sectarian staelet, they had ever ready tools, a Militia called the R.U.C, which was called 'police' then there was stand by Protestant Army, "The B Specials" , and of course their infamous " Special Powers Act" , they had a British State subsidised huge Shipyard that employed practically zero Catholics, many huge companies like The Ropeworks, etc, followed this trend. There was discrimination in housing, education and voting, they had a system, gerrymandering, where the minority could rule the majority, Collins dictionary gives Derry City as an example. So..no.. the troubles didn't start with the 1964 Divis Street riots... the Duke Street Civil Rights 1968 March where the world seen on T.V the brutally disgusting attack made by the R.U.C on the Marchers, nor did the troubles start at the infamous Burntollet ambush on Civil Rights Marchers January 4th 1969, by Paisleyites (named after being followers of the present day Prime Minister of "Northern Ireland". .. but I think you could safely say the troubles exelerated in August 1969, when the R.U.C backed by loyalists made an all out assault on the Catholic Ghetto's.
